Why I understand what it is to immigrate to the US

I was born in the Azores, Portugal, a small archipelago in the Atlantic Ocean. I emigrated to the United States as a child. As an immigrant, I understood the challenges of immigrant communities and the importance of being documented. I wanted to be an attorney from an early age, as justice and fairness were important ideals that I wanted to fight for, but when I attended law school at the University of California Hastings College fo the Law in San Francisco, California, I had the opportunity of studying immigration law with Professor Richard Boswell, and inspiring professor who also was an activist for immigrants rights. After that, I knew that immigration law would be a perfect fit for me, and I have been practicing immigration law since 2001. With 20 years of experience, a passion for helping immigrants, and a unique understanding of issues affecting my clients, I am well-positioned to help navigate this complex area of law and to find solutions for even the most difficult cases.
